Dr. Victor Treviño , ITESM, Monterrey, Mexico

Dr. Treviño is a Lecturer and Researcher in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology at ITESM. He has over 20 years of experience in Software Development including 10 years in Bioinformatics, he is an expert in software design including web technologies. He holds a PhD in Biosciences from the University of Birmingham in United Kingdom.

WHO WE ARE

CMO: Saara Totterman, MD, PhD

Dr. Totterman has over 30 years of experience as a clinical radiologist and scientist with particular expertise in MRI and CT.  For over 10 years, she has worked with Dr. Tamez-Peña to develop software-based analysis technologies for use in clinical research.  Dr. Totterman is responsible for medical science and therapeutic applicability of 4Qimaging technology.

CTO: Jose G. Tamez-Peña, PhD

Dr. Tamez-Peña has over 20 years of Image Analysis and Computer vision experience and is a leading authority on quantitative analysis of MR image data. Dr. Tamez-Peña is responsible for imaging science, research and algorithm development.

Drs. Totterman and Tamez-Peña are the inventors of several patented medical imaging analysis methods as well as authors of numerous publications.  Drs. Totterman and Tamez-Peña’s scientific accomplishments led to the formation of VirtualScopics (NASDAQ: VSCP). 

Sr. MEDICAL SCIENTIST:

Joshua M. Farber, MD

Dr. Farber is a board certified radiologist with over 15 years of clinical experience.  He received his MD from the University of Pennsylvania and was a resident at NYU.  He completed two formal fellowships, one in MSK radiology at NYU and one in MRI at Duke.  He has over fifteen years of clinical experience, the last five as a partner in private practice.  He is on numerous program committees for the ISMRM, RSNA and SSR, and he reviews for five peer reviewed journals.

SCIENTIST:  Karl G. Baum, PhD

Dr. Baum's background and specialization is in image processing and analysis methods.  Holding B.S. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science from Syracuse University and a PhD in Imaging Science from RIT, he applies computational science techniques and modern technologies to provide clinically relevant solutions to medical imaging problems.

COO: Patricia Gonzalez, MBA

Patricia oversaw the commercial application of VirtualScopics’ technology in image processing for clinical trials as well as the transformation of the company into a regulatory-compliant clinical services provider. Patricia holds an MBA from the University of Rochester's Simon School of Business.

CEO: Edward Schreyer

Edward has extensive product, marketing and management experience in early-stage companies and large corporations including PeopleSoft, Silicon Graphics, 3Com and One Touch Systems. As Vice President of Operations at VirtualScopics, Edward managed early-stage core lab development and growth from less than $100K to initial profitability and multi-million dollar revenues.  Edward holds a B.S in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Board Director:  Mikael Totterman

Mr. Totterman is Chairman and CEO of iCardiac Technologies, Inc., a technologically-differentiated cardiac core lab providing cardiac safety assessment methodologies for Phase I through Phase IV studies.  Prior to iCardiac Technologies Mr. Totterman was the Chief Operating Officer of VirtualScopics Inc. (VSCP). Earlier in his career, Mr. Totterman also served as a principal at 3Com Ventures, a $250 million venture capital fund based in Santa Clara, CA as well as building 3Com’s Network of Global Strategic Alliances with companies including Philips, Siemens, AT&T and British Telecom. He has also held positions at Boston Consulting Group as well as Gemini Consulting. Mr. Totterman received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering from Stanford University where he was a David Starr Jordan Scholar and his Masters of Business Administration from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth College.

Board Director:  Hector Arrillaga

Mr. Arrillaga is an executive with Hewlett-Packard's Latin Amercian business unit, responsible for a multi-million dollar product and services organization.  His tenure at HP spans over two decades of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing.  Mr. Arrillaga holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from TEC, Monterrey, Mexico and has completed graduate courses from the Kellog School of Managment (Chicago, IL) and the Harvard Business School.
